Astronaut and Professor Discusses Aviation Management Program

Share

Winston E. Scott, a former astronaut and current Senior Vice President for External Relations and Economic Development at Florida Tech, says the university’s Aviation Management program readies students to assume leadership roles in the industry.

“Several directors of major airports around the country are Florida Tech graduates,” Scott, a former Navy pilot who served on two space shuttle missions, says in our video interview.

Florida Tech launched the first BA in Aviation Management 100% online to give students access to its renowned program regardless of their location. The degree program includes curriculum in aviation and management, from creating an airline business plan to protecting aviation businesses from liabilities, in order to ensure students are prepared for career opportunities in the field.

“People don’t think about it, but somebody has to manage the airport,” Scott says.
